Solar and Battery Rebates - are they available at my property?

The short answer is YES! Government solar and battery rebates are available throughout Australia, including regional and remote properties.

Unfortunately, some solar retailers use misleading sales tactics, suggesting that rebates may not be available at your property, or that you must act immediately before funding runs out.

Here's what you should know.

Solar Panel Rebates

The Australian Government's Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (STCs) has been operating for many years and is scheduled to continue until 31 December 2030.

The rebate is calculated according to the size of your solar installation, its location and the installation date.

In 2026, a solar installation in the Great Southern (STC Zone 4) attracts a rebate of approximately $220–$240 per kW of solar panels installed.

Perth is in STC Zone 3, where rebates are slightly higher. This is one reason why advertised metropolitan solar prices may differ from regional prices.

Solar rebates gradually reduce each year until the scheme concludes in 2030.

Battery Rebates

The federal battery rebate is also available Australia-wide.

Under the current scheme, substantial rebates apply to the first 14 kWh of usable battery capacity. Additional capacity from 14–28 kWh receives a reduced rebate, with a smaller rebate still available up to 50 kWh.

Battery rebate rates are scheduled to decrease every six months.

Don't Be Pressured!

These are established government incentive schemes, not exclusive offers from individual retailers.

While eligibility conditions apply, there is no need to make a rushed decision based on misleading claims of limited availability.

At Denmark Solar, we'll explain exactly which rebates apply to your property, with straightforward advice and no high-pressure sales tactics.”
